About the Series
A harrowing experience of hate and survival and how love helped them through
Amidst the current global crisis of heightened hatred towards marginalized communities we have set out to create a documentary series to serve as a beacon of hope. The series aims to depict how the same human nature which drives hatred and atrocities can also serve as the cure through love and acceptance. Love and The Holocaust will be the first season of our documentary series, PLIGHT, to showcase that duality.
Throughout the series, we will follow Holocaust survivors Eva and Leslie Aigner, examining the lives of those who have triumphed over injustice and trauma. This first season will also explore the historically close relationship formed between Black and Jewish Americans in the 20th century. PLIGHT will look into how these cultures leveraged their individual platforms to promote one another’s fight for justice, from the 1930’s through the civil rights movement. Clearly exemplifying how communities working together have the power to affect incredible change. PLIGHT seeks to showcase how intercultural connections can help reframe the ways in which we view and interact with one another. A worldwide epidemic of hate will be uncovered with the hope of healing as the outcome.
